Spring Awakening - Ikebana Exhibition & Demonstrations

After a cozy winter rest, we will be reopening our doors on Tuesday, 1st September 2026 (12:00–4:00pm) with a breathtaking new Japanese ikebana exhibition: “Spring Awakening” 

Join us from 1st–6th September (12–4pm daily) to experience the stunning art of ikebana from the Japanese Sogetsu School. Talented artists from Tasmania and Victoria—including a world-class Riji master—will transform our historic rooms with beautiful ikebana using branches and flowers from our garden. Some works will use unconventional materials, and a bamboo sculpture will be installed in the garden (viewing costs are covered by your House entry fee).

Want to see the artists at work? On the Thursday and Saturday of exhibition week, for a small additional fee, book your spot for an intimate hour-long live demonstration, followed by a visit inside the house and a Devonshire tea.

• Saturday, 5th Sept | 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm | $45 per person

National Trust Members receive a discounted ticket price of $40 per person, per session (standard admission $45).

Bookings are essential, as tickets are limited. Your ticket includes admission to one demonstration, entry to Franklin House, and a delicious Devonshire Tea.
