Paint and Colour in Historic Buildings
- Duration: 3 Hours
- Location: Hobart, Tasmania
Join us at Runnymede in New Town for an insightful exploration of paint and colour in
historic buildings. This workshop will explore into the materials traditionally
used to decorate properties like Runnymede, as well as Tasmania's more humble
homes.
We’ll discuss the origins of various colours and weigh the pros
and cons of both ancient and modern paints. Historic Colour Consultant, Michael
Bremer-Trainor, will explain the merit of using authentic materials to maintain
the character and integrity of historic properties.
The workshop will include examples from within Runnymede itself,
providing a tangible connection to the history we aim to preserve
Morning tea, coffee, and cake will be provided.
A follow-up workshop, to be offered at a later date, will give a hands-on opportunity to create and use some of the paints discussed in this session.
